My Journey

My love of the great outdoors and the natural world began at a very early age. I was fortunate enough to grow up in North Norfolk, where I spent countless hours exploring the countryside on my bike, discovering wildlife and the beautiful landscapes around me.

I always wanted to record what I found, and my parents encouraged this passion. When I started high school, they bought me my very first camera—a gift that changed everything.

From then on, photography became my obsession. I cycled all over Norfolk, photographing wildlife and the countryside whenever I could. Looking back, I can only imagine how much all that film and processing must have cost my parents!

My first photograph was published in my early twenties, and many more publications followed. As my career developed, I began covering wildlife crime for a variety of publications, from local newspapers to national titles, as well as organisations including the RSPCA. I also covered events for Cage & Avery and Farmers Weekly.

Although this work was important, witnessing the mistreatment and cruelty inflicted on wildlife over many years began to take its toll. I realised that my true passion lay in celebrating the natural world rather than documenting its darker side. After much thought, my family and I decided it was time for a change of lifestyle, and we moved to the Highlands of Scotland, where my love of wildlife photography was rekindled. In 2016, we settled in the beautiful Scottish Borders, where I continue to photograph the landscapes and wildlife that inspire me every day.

I've covered a wide range of shows and events over the years, working closely with various wildlife agencies, as well as undertaking corporate commissions for farms, to falconry centre and much more. .

I personally print all of my own photographs in a wide range of formats, ensuring exceptional quality and attention to detail. My prints are available on the finest Luster Photo paper, natural slate, wood and aluminium

I’m now starting to run wildlife photography workshops, specialising in wood mice and harvest mice. Sharing my knowledge and helping others experience these fascinating little creatures in a respectful and ethical way has become another rewarding part of my photography journey.

What's in the Bag?

I've been a dedicated Nikon photographer for many years and made the move to Nikon's mirrorless system in 2021.

My lens collection ranges from an ultra-wide 14mm for sweeping landscapes to the incredible 400mm f2.8 tc telephoto for capturing distant wildlife, allowing me to photograph almost any scene nature has to offer.
